Kenicott, Alaska Pilots: Although we had ample opportunities to stay in lodges at a variety of locations, we actually found it easier in many ways to camp by the plane.  With the motorcycle as ground transportation, having dinner at a lodge was common, but other ammenties, such as showers and bathrooms were usually readily available in some form at or near the airport anyway.  Over the course of the 5 weeks of travel, the cost savings was huge, but that was not our primary reason for camping.
